Making Woven Wall Hangings in Uganda

  • by Kohl Crecelius
Weaving Better Futures at KK Uganda We knew the women we work alongside had a penchant for all things knit and crochet, but when we approached them with an idea for wall hangings, they astonished us. From handcrafting their own looms to locally sourcing details like wooden dowels, the addition of woven wall hangings to our collection turned into a passion project for the ladies of Krochet Kids Uganda very quickly. These products are a first for us, so we are incredibly excited to share these woven works of art with you! We're incredibly excited to introduce this collection of woven wall hangings, each a product of incredible patience and skill that showcases the capabilities of the women we employ in Uganda. Arriving just in time for the holiday season, you can hang these with pride - each wall hanging is hand-signed by the lady who made it so you can know who you are empowering with your purchase.
